Yesterday I got a very special delivery...a big ole box full of crown mountain farms hand dyed super wash merino fiber. I mean, I'm sitting here drooling all over my desk just thinking about it because its just so darned tasty!
I was good, and I only ordered 2- 8 ounce bumps of fiber, the first in the "Shes Like a Rainbow" colorway, and the other in "San Francisco". It was my first order from them, and had I known how wonderful the fiber was, I don't think I would have been able to restrain myself.
Hello Santa? Its me. Skeingenius.... Please send me all the CMF that you can fit in your sleigh. I've been good I promise. Besides, I can't be bad if I have so much fluff to spin. It 'll keep me out of trouble:)
The box showed up while I was at work, and I was literally hopping up and down at the bus stop waiting to go home (yep...I till don't have my car back after a month of waiting. grr....but fibery goodness can take the edge off even the worst car-related angst.)
After I got back to the homestead and oiled up my polish dream-machine, I just sat there, petting the pretty fiber for a bit till I could make up my mind which to spin first. After a coin flip or two, I got pre-drafting on the "She's Like a Rainbow". It was all buttery. I had the best of intentions, I wanted to finish more of the mill ends that I was spinning previously, but man! I love this stuff!!!! The call was too strong, and I was quickly spinning away.
I'd never spun super wash before, and I had anticipated that it would be a more difficult spin. I'd say that I got through about 3.5 ounces of the bump before I called it a night. When I woke up this morning I was totally itching to get spinning on more. (only 5 more hours and counting till I'll be back in the thick of the spin). Its like crack I tell ya.
Heres the link so you and go buy your own. (or buy some for me. You know you want to)
