Did everybody have a happy holiday? I did. The fat man in red jammies squoze himself into the chimney and left me lots of fun spinning and knitting loot. (This is impressive considering I live in an apartment with no fireplace ). Yeah, it was just good 'ole fashioned fun.
Boygenius, (realizing how badly knitting blogs without pictures suck,) took it upon himself to buy me a nifty new Sony Cybershot camera for Christmas so I can share pictures of my woolly misadventures. I've been so busy that I haven't had time to install the software on my computer, but I've been taking pics like crazy, so prepare yourself for the coming onslaught of images soon to be headed your way.
On Christmas day, I did manage to tackle my mother and force her to try on her momma socky socks before she headed back to the farm. I think they may have been a might too snug, but she says they fit her perfectly. No way I was going to be able to let her out of my sight until I knew if they fit, or if I was going to be knitting a do over in short order. I'm thinking about knitting her another pair for her birthday in March.
My M.O.A. Sharon was head over heels about the puppy fluff spinning certificate and collection kit. It seems that they have a box full of fluff from their previous malamute who passed away a while back, and they had been saving it with little hope or knowledge to what could be done with it. Now, it will have a new lease on life. I just hope I can do it justice :)
In non-Christmas news, I have to pass along the fact that I've been lucky enough to witness the birth of a new knitter. My dear friend Christine, has now fallen to the dark side. Welcome to the club, lady! After a wee bit of instruction at a knit night, she took an instructional book, needles and yarn home and the next time I saw her, she had whipped out a very impressive scarf. She had taught herself to bind off and everything!
Rock on with your bad self Christine!
