With my newly plied, washed, and whacked "Shes' like a Rainbow" hanging safely on my shower rod to dry, my mind is drifting off to visions of other fun, fibery things.
I woke up late this morning, ten minutes before I was supposed to be at work to be precise, running out the door without my self-promised project to start up today, but its OK, it gives me more of a chance to go back to obsessing over the stitch patterns for the seaside sweater that is still dancing in the back or my brain...or to start thinking about how maybe I should try knitting some mittens since its 32 degrees today and I don't have any.
Sounds reasonable huh? The Christmas knitter in me is saying that I should focus on gifty knits instead, but who can knit gifty knits when their hands fall off due to frostbite? Take that! gifty knitter! Bow before my superior ability to rationalize mittens!
If I had to have slept in, at least I accidentally slept in because I was in the midst of sweet, sweet, fibery dreams. With all of the spinning I have done over the past few days, its only natural that I got to dreaming about it... From the time I first started working, I would always have nights after particularly stressful workdays where I would continue working well after I had fallen asleep. I would shelve books and art supplies, count inventory, or in the worst case scenario, work an endless stream of fast food drive thru window orders then wake up to find that I had to go back and do it all again.
Its so nice when its actually something that you enjoy doing instead of something you dread! I'll spin or knit all night long with a smile on my face. I certainly wake up rip-roaring and ready for the day. Nothing like going around with a little extra pep in your step on a fine Friday morning.
