Warming the Bench

I know what you may be thinking, and it might go a little something like "for a knitting blog, girlfriend certainly doesn't have a whole lotta knittin' going on in here" and to this point, that would be totally true.

For the past week or so I've been on the knitting disabled list so I've been warming the bench. It's due to a wonky neck/right shoulder ( I dunno, one of those freak secretarial injuries that just sort of just happen...um, yeah.) but it seems to be passing so I should be back up and running in no time.

Last night I took advantage of a sale at Webs and bought enough Cascade 220 to start up the Minimalist Cardigan by Ruthie Nussbaum (Interweave Knits fall -07). I think it only took me like 5 hours to decide on which shade of pink I wanted to roll with (peony heather), plus a few extra skeins for some quick knits for the boy (he has the perfect head for hats) and maybe some fingerless mitts.

In my knitting absence I have been spending waaaaay too much time on Ravelry drooling over folks FO's and thinking about how I need to get a decent digital camera so I can take some good shots of my stuff. And to knit more....and better... When I see the photos and read the blogs of folks like Brooklyn Tweed it makes me realize just how much better I can be! Its inspiring.

I've got some pattern ideas cooking, and I'm hoping to be able to offer my first pattern once I get the kinks worked out. After all the free patterns I have taken advantage of over the little bit of time I've been at this, I would say its about time I put my own duck in the pond.
