The Stamp of Approval

After a record 3 days on the needles, I finished, over dyed, and blocked the rebound shawl. Not to mention handed it over to its most lovely and deserving recipient (and no, it wasn't Furgenius, although she obviously is a fan). The picture still doesn't do the colors justice, its a series of much richer blues greens, and purples than this shows. I really need to figure out the whole white balance thing on the camera on of these days.

Buried Treasure

What does a girl do when she has a skein of cascade 220 that she doesn't know what to do with? Well, if you are me, you knit a nifty new hat during a big old fatty snow storm, knit just up to the bind off, then you pack it away forget it exists. Since I haven't been too much in the knitting way due to the bum wrist I went a diggin' in my stash so I could get in my daily dose of wool fondling.

Buried deep, I found this forgotten hat. I bound it off, and slapped it on my head.

Its like the knitting fairy came and left me a present. A finished knitting project, just when it felt like I had lost all knitting mojo. Nice!

I'm still trying to figure out if I think its too small for my head, but right now I'll just bask in the afterglow of the unexpected FO.

But I Don't Wanna Take It Off...

Well, its Wednesday, and yes,as you may have guessed I am sitting here wrapped in the feather and fan shawl ( Which is currently clashing terribly with my outfit). Outfit be damned! But at least it is keeping me warm, and wearing it is allowing me to pet it as much as humanly possible so its all good.

What is it about new finished objects that makes you want to wear them as much as possible for as long as possible? Is this just me? Who here hasn't gotten all kinds of crazed at the prospect of having to take the ole hand knit socks off long enough to take a shower? ...even though you know they will be there all warm and waiting for you when you get out? Who hasn't cursed the fact that you had to wash a hand knit and then atmospheric conditions seemed to mock you with the length of time it took for it to air dry? Come on kids, I know you have a tale to tell. I can't be the only knit nutball in town.

What is your best "but I don't want to take it off!" knit story? Gimmee.
