Miles of Sock.

For the past week, I have been knitting with great speed and dedication but I haven't finished a daggone thing. Why? you might ask. Well, its pretty daggone simple.

Boygenius has gargantuan feet.

At this very point in time, I have pulled sock 1 off onto stitch holders-this is so I can continue to knit until the yarn I ordered online for additional height makes it way to me. This sock, this uncompleted sock...(which is not even remotely close to being mid shin on him) measures in at a whopping 22 inches long unstretched. I'd estimate that it could use another 5-7 inches in length before it will be at the right height for him, and I also estimate that if I slid one of these socks on my own foot, that I could almost wear it as a pair of pants. Or, even better- a funny red and orange striped mermaid tail. You know, its never too early to start thinking about Halloween.

And so, I knit on. Here's hoping that the ball of yarn I ordered rolls up in time that I can finish these socks for Valentines Day. Not likely, but I'm still hopeful.

I hit the library a day or two back and I picked up a new round of knitting books. I've been eyeballing the "Lacy Hug Me Tight" by Tracey Ullman and Mel Clark from the book "Knit 2 Together". Its looking like a solid Christmas knitting option for some of the ladies in the family, and I'd like one myself. Now, all I have to decide is if I want to spin the yarn for it myself or buy something to make it out of. I've still got a pound of corriedale just waiting to be spun, so it might be a good option, its fluffy, a nice off white that could be easily dyed for the more colorful ladies in the family....

Well, ten minutes left of my lunch break, and I must get back to my miles of sock.
Later taters!
