I started working on Boygenius' Blazing Saddles socks again yesterday and they are just flying off the needles since I started up on them again. It had been a little while, since I managed to slip on a patch of ice and slightly sprain my left wrist, but now that its on the mend, I'm back in action.
My only regret about my fall is that nobody was around to see it. I'm of the strict opinion that it kinda makes a slip or a fall more worthwhile if there is somebody around to witness it. At least at that point, its good for comic value. I've long past being ashamed of my klutzy nature. Now I just think of it as a public service. Performance art? Maybe street theater? Yeah, I know I'm stretching it.
Anyway...back to socks! So, Since I am just going to have to put the heartbreak of not having enough yarn to knit these completely out of the same yarn, I've decided that I'm just going to knit these pups till the yarn runs out, and pray that I can find a solid orange yarn to complete the cuffs out of. Boygenius Lurves him some orange. Fingers crossed that I find some this weekend.
This pair is the first that I've worked up using the full on magic loop method and not just 2 circs, and I'm really loving how quickly it goes.
I was trying to figure out which of the Knitpicks circs I like best, the Harmony wood or the nickle, and at this point, I have to say that its nickle all the way for me. I do love the wood, but I feel like nickle will last longer for me in the long run since they have one less join since you have to deal with ( where the wood meets the metal on the Harmony needles and the join to the cable as opposed to just the cable join).
I'm also a raging cheapskate, and the interchangeable nickle set is quite a bit cheaper than the wood... I think we have a winner! Once I save up enough scratch, they will be mine, oh yes!
Well cats and kittens, Enjoy your weekend. You've earned it.
