Whats that Smell?

Yesterday afternoon I got back to the apartment after work, and as soon as I turned the key in the lock, I could smell a smell most foul. A strong smell. A potent and awe inspiringly bad smell.

In short, my apartment smelled like cat poo.

Being that we are very consistent poop scoops for her litter box, and ruling the box out as a source of the funk a "treasure hunt" of sorts was begun in order to ferret out the location of the errant smell.

Normally Furgenius is masterful in her use of the proper facilities, but there have been a few occasions when she has taken her potty habits off road for reasons of spite, or litter brand changes (Who in our household could ever forget the "Swheat Scoop" debacle of 2007?). The most notable of these events was when she was a tiny little kitten, and she tore a hole in the lining under out couch, climbed up in side it amongst the springs and proceeded to use the throne in a way befitting the queen she already knew she was. Yeah, she pooped inside our couch. Good Times!

I checked the bedroom....Nope.

I checked the bathroom....Nope.

I checked the living room....Nope.

I checked the kitchen....Nope.

The smell was strongest in the hall way, but I couldn't find anything on the carpet.

And that's when I saw it.

Furgenius had somehow managed to poop on the wall. Yep. That's not a typo. The cat actually somehow managed to poop on the wall in the hall way. The poo in question was a very average bit of defecation, but it was hanging on the wall like it was nailed up and hung there like a portrait or a souvenir.

The weirdest thing is that it was up higher on the wall than her kiester would allow unless she was doing some form of aerial acrobatics to put it there. It's a good 5 or 6 inches higher than she could normally manage. One good old fashioned scrubbing and wall-bleaching later, and I'm still seriously stumped by this one.

Life is full of surprises.

SG.

PS- Sorry about the delay on the Minimalist pics. I didn't finish seaming it till last night. Boygenius and I have been working on a logo for a blues band and we had some last minute photoshop clean up and typography to do before our deadline. I think its looking pretty swell. I'll try to get the client's approval so I can share it with you guys soon :)

Sitting here thankful that our cat has never done this to us. Also pondering (with you) how on earth a cat can manage to do that to a wall.

I'm still as dumbfounded as ever on this. I think I am going to have to chalk it up to being one of life's great mysteries :)
