A loooong time ago, I used to blog.

So, I have to say that I suck. I've truly been a sadly unmotivated non-blogging sack of skin. Yeah, not really sure what happened there.

It could possibly have something to do with the fact that I'm accidentally knitting a couch from the 70's. I mean, look at this thing!

If you tell me that it doesn't belong on some shag carpet, and you'll be lying to me to spare my feelings.

So what the everloving wombat snot is that? You might be asking (fill in your favorite non-profanity expletive if you aren't feeling "wombat snot"...I promise that I won't get upset).

Well, its a chickadee cowl. It just so happens that a chickadee cowl, when knitted from my hand spun crosspatch yarn looks like it climbed over the wall at goodwill to find a better home. Who knew?

Is it wrong if that makes me love it even more?

I love the pattern and I think I'm going to be forced to knit a giant pile of them. If you haven't knit one of these bad boys you totally need to stick it in your Rav queue right now. I'll wait.

Its the most perfectly simple, lovely pattern especially for breaking up a freaky pooling yarn.

I missed you guys! As for Peru stories, I've made up my mind that I'm going to break that giant hunk of goodness into a series of weekly posts. I know I've said it before, but keep your eyes peeled. They are going to be snuck in between pictures of frantic knitting. 'Cause, I got the fever baby!

A fever you say? The only cure is more cowbell.

Hmmm, not to assert my chronological superiority here -- and definitely not to spare your feelings (you know I'm kidding, right?) -- but that is definitely not a 70s couch colour scheme. It's more early eighties winter coat. (70s couches were rust, avocado, chocolate, and gold. Trust me, I was there.)

P.S. I <3 the chickadee cowl. Theoretically, I have one on the needles somewhere around here.
